Amaranth and Sky Go Homeless!
I can't believe it's been 3 weeks already! Staying with Natalie was fun, but I'm still in road-trip mode and can't stay in one place too long. So I moved myself to Becca and Perry's, courtesy of couchsurfing. I am waiting for a potential roommate to get back to the states (or commonwealths, apparently).
I am also waiting for potential employers to get back to their business and hire me! In the meantime, I accidentally walked into a volunteer job, a class, and an internship. But those are all just fancy words for showing up at RIHOP. "You play piano? See you tomorrow at 3:30." Too bad paying jobs involve paperwork and such.
Other than that, I have just been having fun getting to know
Richland Richmont Richmond. Last Sunday a bunch of us went to Belle Isle after the church cookout, the Sunday before that was spent at Virginia Beach*, and the Sunday before that Ben and Patrick showed me around Caryville Carytown. Unfortunately, the ballroom scene is severely lacking.
As much as I appreciate the storms here, I am offended by the rain itself! I think it has real water in it!! Pacific Northwesterners think we own the rain or something, but it totally owned all over me today. Some guy on the street even gave me a pity umbrella. I don't actually know how to use an umbrella, and this one is huge, but my rain snob days are over.
Number One Awesome Thing: The other day at the pre-Call rally (where this random lady from Delaware gave me $20; that was pretty cool too), Nina walked by Jen and me and casually duck-duck-goosed us. Confirmation, anyone? Hahaha
(Sorry I don't have more pictures; the cord for the camera is either hiding back in Oregon or lost forever.)
